Electronic Medical Records
Documents may be registered with the Patient Care System Document Management System (DMS) in two ways. The simplest way is to take a document that is already in digital format like a word processing file, fax or audio file and register it with the DMS. The second way is to scan a paper document and then register it with the DMS.
In either case the DMS will take the document and create a profile of the document in the database and physically make a copy of the document and place it on the designated computer server. Once it is registered it may be easily accessed by individuals with appropriate access permission.
The DMS manages documents and records in conformance with regulatory and internal policy. Comprehensive access control is automatically managed. Data Security is achieved through both access control and hourly backup via the Internet to a remote storage location.
